GOLDEN GATE PARK Wayfinding system with logo; pictographs; maps; physical signage and kiosks; interactive kiosks and applications; and a book giving the imagined client an overview. A group project with fellow students Jackie Ngo and Jen Huang. This was a truly collaborative (and invigorating) effort, with all of us feeding one another’s imaginations and contributing to the project's various aspects. I often served as a de facto art director, though, and did much of the research. The Victorian silhouettes idea was mine, as was the main conceptual theme of a “wild/tame” dualism (based on the park’s original master plan—see “Research” below). I also came up with the reclaimed-wood approach; designed the interactive kiosk; suggested the “Web 2.0” apps and the “Meander” idea; created icons; wrote the book’s text; and many other things. Below you’ll find a “sampler plate” culled from the book. I’d love to do a project like this for an actual client.
