Edward Moyer recently finished his work for core classes in San José State University's BFA program in graphic design. He has a BA in journalism, an MFA in creative writing, and twenty years of diverse editorial experience, from copy editing to line and developmental editing to freelance writing.
His nonfiction, fiction, and poetry have appeared in a variety of publications, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art’s Open magazine, USA Today, the San Francisco Review of Books, Spin magazine, ZYZZYVA, and the CBS-owned Web site CNET News.com. And he's been an important part of teams that have won recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists as well as a National Magazine Award (the magazine equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize).
He’s also had the pleasure of interviewing numerous luminaries of one sort or the other, from children’s-book illustrator William Joyce to comic/performance genius Lily Tomlin to Elvis’s ex, Priscilla Presley.
He’s excited by his studies in the realm of graphics and is happy to be adding this newfound love for visual communication to his deep and established love for the written variety.
